Reset Outlook Express 6 to the "Internet" Security Zone
Change your settings as follows if you want your Outlook Express 6 security settings to be the same as existed in previous versions of Outlook Express.
These settings enable both "scripting" and "ActiveX". In theory these settings are safe but in practice, loopholes in these settings have been found in the past which have been exploited by e-mail viruses. The risk can be kept small if you run an anti-virus program and keep it up to date, and you exercise caution in permitting ActiveX controls to run whenever you see a prompt about them.
Run Outlook Express 6, click on Tools, and then on Options... In the resulting "Options" window click on the Security tab, then under "Virus Protection", "Select the Internet Explorer security zone to use", select Internet Zone. Click Ok to exit.
If e-mail with scripting still doesn't run after making the above change, it is possible that your browser security settings have been changed from the default values. Please click here for instructions on checking those settings.
